Harvest 2010- The Results
So many stories, lots of new experience and new lessons learned! it was the first harvest for adam as head winemaker, and we couldn’t have hoped for better results!
Here are some highlights:
Pinot Gris 2010: a very pretty season for pinot gris with a dusty rose/ salmon color.it has an interesting spicy quality to it and lots of nice bright yellow fruit.
Gamay 2010: an intense season for our gamay with lots of spiciness its warm and round. more plum/ blackberry than strawberry/ sour cherry this season.
Pinot Noir 2010: We had very beautiful hand-sorted fruit go into our Grange pinot this year, as a result it is developing interesting, dynamic flavors from herbal qualities of dried tea to bright sour cherries and cranberry.
Chardonnay 2010: We did a very small batch style chardonnay and to really bring out the intensity in the wine we did a barrel-fermented style. already a month in oak its getting beautiful caramelized fruit qualities.
Riesling 2010: With some of the ripest riesling we’ve ever seen on the farm we thought it was a perfect opportunity to do a sweeter style Riesling this year. with a strong acid and mineral backbone this wine is not going to be flabby at all.
Get excited, and come visit this winter! it’s a great time of year to meet the winemaker and try the new wines!

Dinner with the Winemaker
This past weekend we had a lovely event at the winery. we had 8 guests win an experience to join us for a beautiful dinner at the winery. they had tour with the winemaker, and tastings in the cellar. Then they join us upstairs for dinner with Adam and Caroline.
It was a perfect fall night and a nice fall menu; pumpkin and apple soup, red wine poached pear salad, pork medallions with white wine-cider and thyme jus and roasted root veg, a local cheese plate, and pumpkin creme caramel.
