The Grange of Prince Edward Vineyards & Estates Winery

There is nothing quite like the experience of the life on a vineyard, the beautiful pastoral setting, rolling hills, historical rural buildings and country sunsets, making the grange the perfect location for a photo workshop.

Spend the day at the The Grange Winery with well known professional photographer Peggy deWitt exploring the vineyard with your camera. There will be an informative tour of processing area, the barrel cellar topped off with a photo op. Enjoy a picnic lunch followed by the photo workshop on this picture perfect grounds while learning more about your camera and composition. Instruction will be tailored to meet the group’s needs, whether you are professional, a well-seasoned amateur or an eager beginner.

Photography Series 2012

All sessions will begin in a classroom setting complete with a power-point presentation. Then spend the afternoon trying out the new techniques with the supervision of Peggy deWitt.

1.    March 26 Mon, Landscape Photography & Camera Modes

Understand how to use the different modes on your digital camera to capture the best possible photo. Experiment with the different settings and compare.

  1. May 11 Fri, Landscape Photography & Flash

Learn all about the creative potential of a fill-flash, use this knowledge to improve your outside photos with exciting results.

  1. June 15 Fri, Landscape Photography & Composition

Good composition will immediately strengthen your photos. Through lecture, examples, discussion and practical exercises you will develop your photographic eye.

  1. September 12 Wed, Landscape Photography & Lighting

Become aware of lighting, its quality, direction and colour. The unique setting of The Grange offers endless possibilities to play with light.

10:00 -10:15  Introductions and course outline

10:15 -11:30  Presentation and lecture

11:30 -12:00  Wine cellar tour and photo op

12:00 – 12:45 Picnic Lunch

12:45- 1:45 Spend the afternoon shooting and trying out new techniques with the supervision of Peggy deWitt.

1:45 – 2:00 – Questions and wrap up.

Note: Bring your camera, owner’s manual, tripod (if you have one) and make sure your batteries are fully charged.
