New Year, New Ideas 2012

February 16th, 2012 | Posted in Uncategorized

We have an exciting year coming up! With lots of changes being made we will have lots more ways for you to experience Prince Edward county and our wines.

With 2011 marking the year that Caroline Granger has taken over the wine making there is exciting new styles to try! From a crisp, fresh Sauvignon Blanc, scheduled to be released early summer and a potential processo style light sparkler- the flavours of 2012 are fresh and new!

We will be launching our new wine line to replace the Trumpour’s Mill in early spring with an LCBO release of our 2009 gamay. We are rethinking the brand in order to get you easy-drinking, tasty wines at assessable prices! More details on that as they come!

News in the vineyards- with strong mature vines growing on 25 hectares of our farm we’re taking things to the next level. Applying organic, biodynamic and policultural techniques to the vineyards to help them make the best expression of the unique prince Edward county terroir. Come for a tour at the vineyard this summer  and see what we’re all about!

This summer alongside the vineyards we will be having a market garden, supplying fresh produce for our picnic lunches. Book a tour and tasting with us, stroll back the lane and find the perfect spot for a picnic, complete with a bottle of wine!

Also this year, we are updating our wine club! Our last attempt was trying to do too much at once and missed the point- which was, as always, to make local wine accessible to locals and to our fans. So with lots of extra perks like, free barrel cellar tour and tastings (which aren’t cheap), private members only harvest events, and special access to wines we bring out of our reserves and new wines yet to be released.

And check out our blog for our GOOD VALUE series. Posted tasting notes, pairing ideas, and easy weeknight recipes to go with our under $15 line. Best yet? We will be posting case deals on our GOOD VALUE series each month for online orders!

New look for our brand. Now that our wines are becoming popular across Ontario in LCBO stores, we wanted to come up with clear labels to help people understand what to expect from our wines. Using a simple color code, find which wines are perfect for any occasion!

Lastly, big changes have been happening in the winery, including Caroline taking over full time with the winemaking. New staff, new ideas; at the all women run winery!
